Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?
I recently downloaded a 50 GB torrent and I removed the torrent from the list of torrents. I still wanted to seed and all merely now when I re-add the torrent, It starts downloading the torrent all over over again fifty-fifty idea all the data is at that place. How can I go about fixing this? Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?
I'd like to restart seeding too only can't using these instructions.
I moved the torrent and the download back to the default download location, but when I try to verify, T two.4.2 refuses -- information technology shows the download (which is a binder) equally existence empty. It isn't -- I checked and everything'south there.

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?
dip, y'all need to select the enclosing folder of the data folder/file not the data binder/file itself.
For example, if "Downloads" is set as your download location that is the binder you select when moving a torrent to, or verifying a torrent in, your default location. Data must be in its original folder construction and naming must also be original.

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?
I accept the "Default location" fix to "Aforementioned equally torrent file," and "Proceed incomplete files in" set to "Desktop." The torrent file and folder are on the Desktop and the folder is intact with its original proper noun, etc.
When I double-click the torrent file, it shows an empty binder and therefore tin't verify.

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?
I just repeated your set-upwards and it auto-verifies to 100% for completed files.
N.B. If the .torrent file was within the "Mag_Links" binder that would be incorrect and would non work.
Go to "/Users/<yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Manual" and delete, if establish, the resume and torrent file for this trouble torrent.

Re: Restart Torrent Without Re-downloading?
I deleted the torrent file and (empty) folder from the locations yous specified -- even relaunched T -- only get the aforementioned behavior.
Equally soon as I double-click the torrent file (which is on my Desktop, along with the intact binder) T puts a fresh copy in ~/Library/Application Support/Transmission/Torrents, creates a new empty folder in Resume, and the verify operation shows an empty folder.
PS - Thanks for the extremely clear graphics. That was a lot of work!

What are the adjacent few entries ? Verification takes time (a lot more than 5 secs for any normal sized torrent--Run into Inspector->Activity). Do you lot take your Message Log assault Debug?

Lamentable -- I missed your pedagogy to select Debug. I cleared T's Resume and Torrents folders, cleared the Log window, and made a fresh attempt:

Verification is washed. It took 0 seconds to verify 3997041467 bytes (3997041467 bytes per second)
Since it just took 0 (<.five) seconds to verify 4 GB, then I assume Transmission does not recognize the data and shows piddling or no progress in the Inspector or Primary Window? If that is true, then the information must not properly lucifer the .torrent yous are trying to use, assuming you take followed the above instructions. Perhaps the information has been changed in some style since it was d/led or y'all may exist trying to apply a different .torrent than the original. In that case, you lot would need to re-download the torrent data.
Improve luck in 2012!

It'southward definitely the same .torrent, and I'k at a loss to think of what alter I might accept fabricated to the download itself. But you lot must be correct. If it happens over again with a unlike torrent, I'll report dorsum.
My ratio on this 1 was slightly improve than 5 so I guess I needn't experience bad. It's just that I have bandwidth to spare and the torrent was active when I saw it last, then I wanted to continue seeding. I know what it'due south like to exist curt on seeders.
Thanks once more for your patient and lucid assist.

Thanks again for your patient and lucid assist.
I capeesh the kind words but I all the same have a feeling something isn't quite right. If you lot haven't completely given up, effort creating a new folder on your Desktop and go out it named "untitled". Stick the data in there in toto, then load the .torrent into Transmission in a paused state. After it is loaded use "File->Move Information File To..." and select the "untitled" binder. Afterwards that is done, then endeavor "Transfers->Verify Local Data". If that doesn't work, put upward the white flag.
